A school in North Carolina has published a list of gay-friendly businesses and churches in the area to counter the painful work of some homophobic churches.

The LGBTQIA resource center at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington put out a guide to gay-friendly institutions nearby and professors are recommended to share the information with students.

A prominent professor at the school who’s known for speaking out against homosexuality called the list stupid. From the Advocate:

He said the university would never put out a list of churches that teach what he called “the two most important truths about homosexuality”: that “it is unequivocally sinful according to both the Old and New Testaments” and that it is harmful.

Speaking to Fox News, Adams admitted the list of gay-friendly churches probably did not violate the constitutional requirement of separation of church and state, noting that it would be a more serious problem if a professor used classroom time to advise students on where to attend church. But the university should cease distributing the information anyway, he said. Travis Barham, an attorney with the conservative Alliance Defense Fund, also questioned the appropriateness of the list. Fox News could not reach the LGBTQIA Resource Office for comment.

How can you possibly argue against a piece of paper listing a few places where a gay student can go without getting harassed? How is that hurting anyone? The arguments against this baffle me.

“35 years of prayer couldn’t get rid of my homosexuality. My name is Steve and I am an Ex Mormon.”

This video of an ex-ex-gay exposes a lot about the cruel, hateful cult of Mormonism and the junk pseudo-science of ‘conversion therapy.’

Other than the debatable definition of bisexual, this is pretty good. And the use of “lesbian and bisexual women” and “gay and bisexual men” can be seen as pretty exclusive to some people.
But I am very happy to see polyamory included!
EDIT: It’d be much appreciated if you did not delete the credit, it’s disrespectful.

What is intersex?
Intersex is physical differences in sex. They are differences where a person may appear to have features typical of both a male and a female, where a person may not be fully male or female or where a person is neither male nor female.

What causes intersex?
The search for the things that cause intersex has lead medical practitioners to treat intersex differences like a sickness.

OII Australia disagrees with this approach and holds that intersex is one of a number of physical differences in the spectrum of all the differences that are humanly possible.
